Lloyd "Barney" DeArment, II

              Lloyd G. "Barney" DeArment II, 59, of Oil City, formerly of California, died Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 at home in Oil City following an illness. 

            He was born in Oil City on November 10, 1957 to the late Lloyd G. and Helene (Myers) DeArment. 

            He was a 1976 graduate of Oil City High School. 

            Barney was a member of the Pulaski Club and the P.N.A. in Oil City. 

            He enjoyed bowling, throwing darts, trips to the casino, and fishing.  He will be dearly missed, but always remembered for his jokes and wonderful sense of humor. 

            Following high school, he moved to California where he began working in the local Union 586 until 1981, when he began a career in the automobile business.  He was employed as a salesman for Future Ford Dealership, a sales manager at Auto West Honda, and also worked at Future Nissan.  In 2008, he returned to Oil City and worked at Venango Training & Development in Seneca, worked on oil rigs, and for ARC of Meadville, until his health declined. 

            He is survived by a son, Lloyd G. DeArment III of California; his companion, Barbara Mason of Oil City; four sisters, Dixie Knight, Pamela Carbaugh, Roxie DeArment, and Traci DeArment; a brother, Bradley "Boo" DeArment, all of Oil City; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very close friend, Paul Linstrom of California. 

            He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy Horton. 

            Friends will be received Monday (July 17) from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where a funeral service will follow Monday at 4 p.m. with Rev. Jayne French officiating.  Interment will be in Washington Cemetery, Frills Corners, Clarion County.
