A memorial service for Larry E. Alex will be held on Monday (July 8th) at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Oil City Salvation Army, 217 Sycamore Street, in Oil City. Major Vernon Dalby will officiate. Private interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery in Kennerdell.
Lawrence Eugene "Larry" Alex, 62, of Ohio, formerly of Venango County, died Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born in Oil City on November 25, 1956 to Edith I. (Huff) Alex of Franklin and the late Floyd K. Alex.
Larry attended Cranberry schools.
He enjoyed fishing; and had a fun sense of humor and enjoyed joking around.
Mr. Alex worked as an over the road truck driver for many years. He also worked as a cook at various restaurants in Ohio.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Alex, and his step-dad, Richard Crisman, of Franklin; two children, Colton and Brianna Alex of Ohio; his siblings: Fred Alex and his wife Trudy of Oil City, Pam Ginnery and her companion Tom Gibbons of Tippery, and Henry Alex and his wife Connie of Aynor, South Carolina; his nieces and nephews: Alicia Alex, Owen Ginnery Jr., Tara Ginnery, Denise Ginnery, and Christopher Alex; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd K. Alex; a daughter, Crystalskye Alex; his paternal grandmother, Emily Gearhart; and his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Verna Huff.
