Larry J. Heim, Sr., 70, of Kennerdell, Cranberry Township, died Tuesday afternoon, January 23, 2018 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Franklin on July 10, 1947, a son of Harold and Edna (Jones) Heim.
Larry attended Cranberry High School and later graduated from the G.E. Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, studying electronics.
He was a member of the Calvary Temple Church in Oil City.
Larry enjoyed electronics, watching wrestling and the Steelers, drag racing, cook-outs, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Heim was self-employed and owned and operated Heim TV & Appliance for many years. Following his retirement, he worked a short time at Wal-Mart.
He was married in Seneca on November 15, 1969 to the former Nancy L. Lawson, and she survives.
Also surviving are five children: Laurie Tetro of Kittanning, Joyce Young and her husband David of Franklin, Larry J. Heim, Jr. and his wife Lucinda of Cooperstown, Michael Heim and his wife Holly of Kennerdell, and Angel Novak and her husband Ryan of Oil City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Dick and her husband Charles of Sandy Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents that raised him, Harold and Edna Heim, he was preceded in death by his biological mother, Jeannette Walburn; and a daughter, Nancy Ann Stubbs.
A visitation will be held Friday (Jan. 26th) from noon until 3 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. The memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held Friday (Jan. 26th) at 4 p.m. in the Victory Heights United Brethren Church, 5978 Rte. 322, Franklin. Rev. Rudy Rimer will officiate. Private interment will be in Log Cemetery in Barkeyville.
