He was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania on March 30, 1955; a son of the late Ralph and Sara (Boyer) Stegall.

John was employed by the Hershey Food Company for his entire career, working in the chocolate mixing department.

He enjoyed collecting Hershey items, shooting pool, taking his 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S-Rallye to car shows, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  John also enjoyed having weekend garage sales, where he would have the opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors.

He was married in Cleona, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1991 to the former Peggy L. Fisher, and she survives.

Also surviving are two children:  Jessica Erickson and her husband Brad of Middletown, and Gary Stegall of Lebanon; two grandchildren: Brayden and Linnaea Erickson; and three brothers: Ron Stegall of Loyalsville, Larry Stegall and his wife Maureen of Lebanon, and Greg Stegall and his wife Debbie of Hershey.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sara Stegall.
