James E. Lawson

James Eugene Lawson, 72, of Goodview, Virginia, formerly of Oil City, died Sunday, September 8, 2019.  He was born February 12, 1947, son of the late Harold Lawrence and Adelia Riffenburg Lawson. 

He was retired from Electralloy Corp. as a bricklayer. 

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane Lynn Gregory Lawson; children, Peggy Lawson Bauer and husband Robert, James Eugene “Luke” Lawson, Jr. and wife Patty, Lisa Ann “Boo” Toscano and special friend Chris Erwin; grandchildren, David Bauer and wife Brittany, Lucas Bauer and wife Jamie, Brittany Buckins and husband Nick, Alyssa Lawson, Katie Caldwell and husband Donald; great-grandkids, Tate & Brody Bauer, Brantley & Brielle Bauer, Avery & Aliva Buckins and Emma Grace Caldwell.  Also surviving are his sisters, Gloria Parry, Joyce Rodebaugh, Nancy Heim and Peggy Frankenberger and husband Denny; and very special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Larry Lawson and his wife Amy; and his sister, Sandy Russell.

Friends will be received Friday (Sept. 13th) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.  A funeral service will follow in the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m., with Rev. Harry “Bud” Lawson, officiating.  Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
