A memorial service to celebrate the life of Edward L. Tarr will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22nd in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 144 South Main Street in Seneca, PA 16346.
Edward L. Tarr, 80, of Victory Church Road, Franklin, died Thursday morning, June 6, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Franklin on August 19, 1938 to the late Virgil and Mildred (Latchaw) Tarr.
He was a 1956 graduate of Cranberry High School. Mr. Tarr served in the U.S. Navy.
He was an active member with the ministries of the Oil City Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Ed enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Tarr was employed as a machinist with Joy Manufacturing in Franklin for 32 years.
He was married in Oil City on June 3, 1967 to the former Violet R. Runninger, and she survives.
Also surviving are four children: Stephanie Dean and her husband Tom of Oil City, Andrew Tarr and his wife Carrie of Oil City, Rebekah Tarr of Franklin, and Michael Tarr and his wife Candice of Oil City. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Doris Bickel of Franklin, Bonnie Ward of Virginia, Bill Tarr and his wife Sis of Nevada, Don Tarr and his wife Marty of Oil City, and Helen Dingler and her husband Roger of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Tarr; and five sisters: Betty Orr, Susie Jarzenski, Leda Tarr, Yvonne Strain, and Loretta Anderson.
Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.
The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements.
