Debra S. Edwards

Debra S. Edwards, 56, of Seneca, passed away Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 following a 3 ½ year battle with cancer. 

She was born in Oil City on January 9th, 1963 to the late Robert B. and Donna L. (Shaner) VanWormer.  Deb was the family historian, and spent her free time over the years enjoying genealogy work.  She enjoyed shopping, bingo, and trips to the casino.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will truly be missed.

Surviving is her husband Duke Edwards of Seneca; her daughter, Jennifer R. Lawrence and her husband Jacob of Franklin; and her son, David J. Edwards and his wife Ashley, and their children: Logan, Seth, and Rylee, of Oil City.

Deb was part of a big family, being one of ten children.  She is survived by her beloved siblings: John VanWormer and wife Janet, Donna Porter and husband Robert, Linda Runninger and husband Roger, Richard VanWormer, James VanWormer and wife Dawn, Rose VanWormer, Terri VanWormer, Merle VanWormer and wife Jamie, and Shirley Deloe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael P. Runninger; brothers-in-laws, Roger Gourley and Terry Deloe; and her longtime friend, Alicia Shirey.

Friends will be received Friday (Feb. 1st) from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca.  A funeral service will follow at the church Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. William E. Hastings, church pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City. 

Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township.
