Claire Patricia "Pat" Whaley, 86, of Cranberry, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, August 8, 2018 at Clarion Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Oil City on March 26, 1932 to the late Clare F. and Jennie M. (Kelso) Masters.
Claire was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, music, and spending time with her family.
She was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her family.
With her husband, she owned and operated the Atlantic service station in Cranberry for many years, before moving to Colorado in 1971.
She was married in Oil City on May 20, 1957 to Edward R. Whaley, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2003.
Surviving are six children: Otto R. Whaley and his wife Carol of Florida, Cindy D. Clark and her husband Paul of Cranberry, Michael D. Whaley of Costa Rica, Timothy A. Patterson and his wife Joyce of Longmont, Colorado, Dixie L. Patterson of Cranberry, and Mark R. Whaley and his wife Joni of Fort Collins, Colorado. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Eledrith Heckathorne, Donna Everly, and Flo-Jeanine Turk.
A visitation will be held Friday (Aug. 10) from 7 - 9 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday (Aug. 11) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Miller, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.
