Arnold C. Osterman, 92, of Oil City, died on Thursday afternoon, July 6, 2017 at The Caring Place in Franklin.

Born December 4, 1924 in Oil City, he was the son of the late Ray and Alma (Sawatsky) Osterman.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific Theatre with the 55th Field Artillery Battalion on the islands of New Guinea, Philippines, and the Occupation of Japan.

Mr. Osterman owned and operated A.C. Osterman Landscaping and Tree Service for fifty years.

He was married to Wilda M. (Matha) Osterman who preceded him in death on September 18, 1993. They were married for 46 years.

He is survived by four children: Rodney Osterman and his wife Melanie (McGraw) of Oil City, Mrs. Thomas (Leatrice) Miller of Windsor, Virginia, Gregory Osterman and his wife Ann (Rekiel) of Oil City, and and Mrs. David (Veronica) Burnette of Canfield, Ohio.

Ten grandchildren survive: Erin (Osterman) Davies, Tate Osterman, Ty Osterman, Wendy (Miller) Edwards, Timothy Arnold Miller, Gretchen Osterman, Ian Osterman, Joy Burnette, Beth Burnette, and Ben Burnette; eleven great-grandchildren: Harper and Oliver Davies, Elle and Emery Osterman, Emma Lee, Clara Mae, and William Ross Edwards, Tahna Miller, Sydney and Trinity Osterman, and Sameera Baidar-Burnette; and a sister, Mrs. Jean Atts of Oil City.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, James, and Ray Osterman.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Arnold Osterman will be held Saturday, July 15th at 11 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 1029 Grandview Road in Oil City. The Rev. David Oester, church pastor, will officiate. Following the service, full military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Private interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City.
