What if I’ve already made arrangements and would like to transfer to Hile-Best Funeral Home?
We will honor the terms of an existing pre-arrangement. We can easily handle a transfer for you. Most all Pennsylvania funeral arrangements are transferable. All you need to do is call and we will answer any questions you may have and begin the transfer for you. Even if your loved one has passed away, the pre-arrangement can still be transferred to Hile-Best Funeral Home Inc.

Do I have to pre-pay?
The most important part of the planning process is just that, planning. You will be given the option of pre-paying, paying over time, or not paying and just making your wishes known.

Like the cost of everything, the cost of funeral services go up over time. By pre-paying the funeral, you will have the peace of mind knowing that everything is taken care of and that your family will not have to worry about financial matters in their time of grief.

Could there be money left over in my pre-arranged burial account following the payment of my funeral expenses?
Often times there are residual funds in a burial account. Our policy at the Hile-Best Funeral Home Inc. is to return any residual funds to the next of kin.

What if I move?
When you pre-pay your funeral expenses, 100% of the monies collected must be placed in an interest bearing funeral trust account that is regulated by the PA State Board of Funeral Directors. Even though your money is irrevocably trusted for funeral expenses, it is easily transferred to another funeral home.

Why should I pre-plan and pre-fund a funeral if a government assistance agency is reviewing my assets?
Because your eligibility for various governmental assistance may be based on your assets. Irrevocably pre-funding funeral expenses is a legal way to reduce your assets which may help you quality for government assistance. Examples may include Medicaid payment to a nursing home and reduced rent in public housing.

Do I have to come to the funeral home?
We will accommodate you, whatever the need. Basic arrangements can be done at the funeral home, by phone and mail, and yes, we even make house calls.
