Joseph Drozdo Obituary

Joseph H. Drozdo, 84, of Seneca, PA, died Monday morning, April 22, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born on March 29, 1940, in Oil City.  Joe was a 1958 graduate of Cranberry High School. After serving in the United States Navy, Joe married his high school sweetheart, Lillian, who preceded him in death on January 11, 2022.

Joe enjoyed being with his family and friends. His trusty pup Ecko was always by his side. He loved seeing his daughter, Julia Clark, and his granddaughter, Crystal Kinnear every day. He and his son, Michael, made sure to have telephone conversations daily from Missouri to Pennsylvania. He was and is loved by many.

He was a member of the former Seneca United Methodist Church.

Joseph enjoyed life. A proud Navy Veteran, he loved his job with Penelec, retiring after 30 years of service in 2001. Throughout his years, Joe had a great love of the outdoors. He was both an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching the Steelers play football, and after his retirement, gave much time to teaching young men the art of becoming a lineman. He will always be a man that legends are made of.

Joe is survived by his sister Debbie Taylor of Oil City; a son, Michael Drozdo and his wife Kathi of Raymondville, Missouri; a daughter, Julia Clark and her husband Michael of Rockland; and granddaughter, Crystal Kinnear, of Seneca; and his 19 year old dog “Ecko”.

Along with his wife, Lillian, he was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Ella Drozdo, and a sister, Sandy Buchna.

Visitation will be held Friday (April 26) from 5 - 7 p.m. and on Saturday (April 27) from 10 - 11 a.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Burns, officiating.  The service will begin with military funeral honors accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
