David J. Idzi, 55, of Oil City, passed away Thursday evening, June 30, 2011, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a sudden illness.
Born May 31, 1956 in Grove City, he was the son of Georgia Lowry Idzi of Oil City and the late Stanley Idzi.
David was a 1974 graduate of Oil City High School.
He spent most of his time away and out of town, and recently returned home to Oil City.
David enjoyed the time he spent in the woods, loved to hunt, and cherished time spent around the water as he was an avid fisherman, especially trout fishing.
He was a member of the Pulaski Club.
Surviving is his mother, Georgia "Peg" Idzi of Oil City; and a sister, Diana M. Idzi of Oil City.
Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, including a special cousin, Pamela Tompsett, of Arizona, who spent much time at his side during his illness, along with many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Idzi.
Friends will be received Sunday (July 3rd) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Sonya Shirley, David's cousin, officiating.
Interment will follow in Georgeville Cemetery near Van.
