A memorial service to celebrate the life of Sally J. O'Neil will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca.  The Rev. William E. Hastings, church pastor, will officiate. 

Sally J. O'Neil, 76, of Seneca, passed away Friday night, April 22, 2016 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City following a brief illness.

She was born in Oil City on June 30, 1939 to the late Arden L. and Josephine Tippery Wagner.

Sally was a 1957 Cranberry High School graduate and also attended nursing school.

She was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church.

Sally enjoyed reading, being outdoors and working in her yard, and traveling with her husband, Dale.

Through the years, Sally worked as a proofreader for the Oil City Derrick, was a vendor/stocker in the supermarkets for French's products, and was employed as a caregiver for United Communities Independence Programs (UCIP).

She was married in the Seneca United Methodist Church on January 5, 1991 to Dale E. O'Neil, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2013.

Surviving is a son, Brian Depew and his wife Joanne of Lafayette, Louisiana; a brother, Mike Wagner and his wife Judy of Middletown, Virginia; her nephews, Joel Kennedy, David, Tim, Jeff, and Ethan Wagner; her nieces, Stephanie Maratta and Noelle Wagner; and her former husband, James Depew.

Also surviving are nine step-children, Andrea Beggs and her husband Don, Holly Moyer and her husband Butch, Heather Sharp and her husband Bill, Deborah Gleason, Julianna Schwimmer, William Sutton and his wife Cindy, Pamela Karns and her husband Tom, Melissa Lindsey and her husband Lewis, and Dale D. O'Neil; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Dale, she was preceded in death by a son, Tom Depew; a brother, Stephen R. Wagner and his wife Kerri; a sister, Jill L. Kennedy; and a step-daughter, April Walters.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements.
