Madolyn L. Boyd

                Madolyn L. Boyd, 90, of Seneca, went to be with her Lord on Friday afternoon, November 4, 2016 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City. 

                She was born March 31, 1926 in Oil City, the daughter of the late George T. Monks, Sr. and Ida (Lehnortt) Monk. 

                She graduated from Oil City High School in 1944. 

                Mrs. Boyd was a twice past matron of the Holly Chapter No. 91 Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Franklin Eagles Auxiliary and the Oil City V.F.W. Auxiliary. 

                Madolyn was a member of Seneca United Methodist Church. 

                She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

                Mrs. Boyd retired in 2004 after more than 22 years as a sales clerk with the Bon Ton Department Store in the Cranberry Mall. 

                She was married in Oil City on April 28, 1949 to Lyle E. Boyd, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1977.

                Surviving are three daughters:  Sandra Tucker of Oil City, Debra Bemis and her husband Randy of Seneca, and Marcia Walton and her husband Terry of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren:  Edward Bemis and his wife Heather of Seneca, Steve Tucker of Oil City, Jeff Tucker of Oil City, and Cindy Dietrich and her husband Eric of Grove City; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, George T. Monks, Jr. and his wife Mary of Oil City.   Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

                In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harold Tucker. 

                Friends will be received Monday (Nov. 7th) from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where the funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Monday.  The Rev. William E. Hastings, pastor of Seneca United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry. 

                Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca U.M. Church, 196 East State Rd., Seneca PA  16346.
