Lois M. Raley, 86, of Tionesta, passed away Sunday evening, May 7, 2017 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, following a brief illness. 

          She was born in Kearney, Bedford County, on March 9, 1931 to the late Clifford and Esther Belle (Jones) Young. 

          Mrs. Raley attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Tionesta. 

          Lois enjoyed cooking and spending time in the kitchen. 

          She was employed by Ralston-Purina in the battery production division in Garrettsville, Ohio, retiring in 1988.

          She was married on April 30, 1948 to John H. Raley, and he survives.  They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. 

          Also surviving are six children:  Sandy Clark of Saxton; Linda Hendrickson and her husband Jim of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; John Raley and his wife Carolyn of Kent, Ohio; Perry Raley and his wife Linda of Vienna, Ohio; Janine Stiffler and her companion Jimmy Gutierrez of Tionesta; and David Raley of Gladewater, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Zelanko and her husband Joseph of Saxton; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Young; and a sister, Melba Ritchey. 

          Friends and family will be received Tuesday (May 9th) from 1 -2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday (May 9) at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, 6615 Rte. 322 in Cranberry, where entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
