Edwin L. Lobaugh

October 15, 1941 ~ November 18, 2016 (age 75) 75 Years Old


          Edwin L. Lobaugh, 75, of Oil City, passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2016 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. 

          He was born in Oil City on October 15, 1941 to the late Edwin M. and Dollie M. (Ginnery) Lobaugh. 

          He graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville. 

          Mr. Lobaugh was of the Protestant faith.

          Ed enjoyed attending car shows and was an avid enthusiast of Volkswagen Bugs.  He was known at the car shows as "The Bug-Man" and restored a number of Volkswagens through the years.  He was also active in area softball leagues where he played, coached, and umpired. 

          He was married in Pitcairn on August 11, 1962 to the former Faye J. Hunter, and she survives. 

          Also surviving are two daughters, Sherie Joseph and her husband Paul of Seneca, and Shelley Kuhns of Oil City; five grandchildren: Allison and Abigail Joseph, Ashley Zacherl and her husband Justin, and Alexis and Ariel Kuhns; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Smalley, Ethan Zacherl, and Bailey Smalley; a half-brother, Jack Ginnery of South Carolina; and numerous  nieces and nephews. 

          In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Dottie Lou Koch and Nancy Mae Seanor. 

          A private funeral service will be held for Ed's family.  Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City. 

          The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements. 

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 447, Seneca PA 16346; or to Oakwood Heights, 10 Vo-Tech Dr., Oil City PA  16301.
